Dan and Lanny Danenberg are always ready to embrace a challenge and put themselves to the test. This is a trait they both attribute to their wonderful upbringings and their parents’constant encouragement.

Dan was born in Rio de Janeiro and then lived in Lima, Peru during his high school years. Lanny grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico (the ‘Atomic City’) near Santa Fe.

With an international background, Dan traveled from South America to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where the Danenbergs met while Dan was earning his architectural degree and Lanny her B.A. in Education.

In addition to travels in Europe, South America and Japan, a number of years spent living and working in the Hawaiian Islands before moving to the Bay Area helps to lend an international influence to their work. They both have a particular love of Japanese design.

Living and working in different parts of the world has also fueled their passion for the melding of unique materials and design elements. Most of their projects will feature elements in glass, stainless steel (or other metals), warm woods and a complementary palette of natural stone.
